It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (33)

Standard

Mon Reading Button PB to YA

It’s Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journeys where you can recap what you’ve read this week while planning ahead on what to read next! Jen and Kellee at Teach Mentor Texts added their own twist by focusing on kidlit, from picture books up to YA.

Clicking the covers will take you to the Goodreads page, where you can add it to your “To Read” list!

Last week I read:

MG/YA Books

We Were Here  The Secret of the Fortune Wookiee (Origami Yoda #3)  Through the Ever Night (Under the Never Sky, #2)  Gone (Gone, #1)

We Were Here — Another great book by MdlP with HUGE student appeal.
The Secret of the Fortune Wookie — Another great installment of the Origami Yoda series. I was worried about “normal” Dwight!
Through the Ever Night — I can’t wait for book 3 so I can see more Aria and Perry! After hearing more of Roar and Liv’s story, I really want to read the Roar and Liv novella.
Gone — Lord of the Flies meets The Stand. I’m hoping once I book talk this my students will look past the length of the book and give it a chance!

This week I plan to read/continue:

Golden The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big Round Things  Quarantine: The Loners (Quarantine, #1)

I can’t wait for this week of reading! What about you?

  1. My students love the SCofOY series so much! I added Quarantine to my TBR list. I loved the Hunger Games Trilogy so I’m sure I’ll like this one. You might like The Testing (Book #1) due out in July. It’s by Joelle Chadbonneau. It was a great read!

    Happy Reading!

  2. I LOVE the Gone series. They are fat and the covers are ugly, but the are so good. I love selling them to teens. I am anxious to hear how you like Golden. It looks really good.

  3. I have a little problem with book covers…it’s so hard for me not to judge a book by it’s cover. I see the cover of Golden and I want to reach right through my computer screen and grab it and start reading. There is something truly magical about an awesome book cover. I hope the book inside is just as good! You’ll have to let me know! 🙂
